I absolutely loved capturing Nicola and James’ wedding day. The couple celebrated at the stunning and unique Lusty Glaze in Newquay, Cornwall. I was ecstatic to photograph my first wedding at Lusty Glaze, it is a superb and unique venue for any rustic, quirky or relaxed wedding and with the unbelievably beautiful beach attached it makes the perfect location to celebrate your day. I’m already looking forward to more wedding photography there in the future!

Nicola was delighted that finally, she could walk down the aisle to marry her soul mate James. The wedding ceremony celebrated at Lusty Glaze was marvellous, the photographs I took there definitely have a "love is in the air" vibe to them. It is truly an amazing job working as a wedding photographer in Newquay, Cornwall.

Nicola and James interacted freely with their guests once they had left their ceremony and enjoyed some time outside on the beach with stunning views of the Cornish cliffs and endless horizon. I was still on the lookout to catch timeless candid moments on camera and with a basket full of welcome drinks and greeting their guests as they enjoyed the sunshine at Lusty Glaze, this gave me a little more time to snap those moments for the newly weds.

One of my favourite moments of the day was when I was capturing Nicola and James during their wedding day portraits. I tend to keep my couples portraits as natural and relaxed as possible but with the breathtaking beach, the amazing weather and stunning colours I had to keep them for a few more minutes than normal! I think it was a great decision as the images we captured really are amazing memories that the happy couple can cherish forever.

There are some real advantages to getting married in late summer. We had glorious sunshine for the day which really helped with photography but also the rain stayed off which was a blessing for the bride and groom. Having a later sunset helped also as I was able to go back out later on in the day with Nicola and James for some additional portraits and a beautiful sunset shot on the beach for the newly weds.

All the guests were keen not to miss the beautiful food provided by the staff at Lusty Glaze. The amazing atmosphere that Lusty Glaze provided was a perfect setting for the wedding breakfast, the whole process was more of an experience for everyone involved than just a traditional wedding breakfast.

The night ended with guests crowding round the dance floor to watch Nicola and James enjoying their first dance together. Nicola and James’ wedding was such a lovely wedding, I’m honoured they chose me to capture it and I wish them a heartfelt congratulations.
