Chinese Wedding Celebrations for Wasana and Simon at The Midland Hotel and Glamorous Restaurant in Manchester City Centre

Chinese Wedding Photographer Manchester

It was a pleasure photographing Wasana and Simon’s Chinese wedding yesterday with all their closest family and friends in attendance. The venues the bride and groom chose for their wedding was The Midland Hotel and Glamorous Restaurant, both in Manchester City Centre. The Midland Hotel is a place you can never get bored of visiting, no matter the number of times you have been there to capture a beautiful wedding, it is without doubt one of the most beautiful venues for any city centre wedding. Also The Glamorous restaurant is just totally perfect for any Chinese wedding celebration, I truly am very honoured that I’m able to visit these stunning venues to capture beautiful and traditional weddings of all cultures and faiths. The happy couple could not have picked better places for their wedding to be held, with the wonderful British weather being kind to the newly weds, the sun shined all day and even allowed Wasana and Simon to have a small walk round Manchester City Centre for some relaxed portraits of the newly weds.

Wasana began her wedding day celebrations getting her hair and make up done with her girls in the bridal suite of The Midland Hotel, those first few hours were the perfect way to start her story. Simon and his boys has time to prepare themselves for the day ahead at home before arriving in style and heading up to the girls for a round of traditional Chinese door games. Only after coffees were ordered for the waiting girls obviously... The air was filled with nerves, bit as soon at the Chinese door games started this soon changed to excitement as the wedding ceremony drew closer.

Family and friends present at The Midland Hotel witnessed Wasana and Simon exchange vows in an emotional yet personal wedding ceremony. Once the happy couple became husband and wife we headed outside the Midland Hotel for the all important confetti shot, which didn’t disappoint! Tea, coffee, group shots and traditional Chinese buns were next for the wedding party before hopping on the coach to Glamorous Restaurant in Manchester.

While guests heading over to Glamorous Restaurant, Wasana, Simon and I took a little time to capture some relaxed portraits around Manchester City Library and the spectacular and stunning areas in and around The Midland Hotel, we were so pleased that this would be possible, the bride and groom couldn’t of asked for better weather during their special day. As a wedding photographer in Manchester I always have a fantastic time photographing weddings around this beautiful part of the country.

Relaxed Chinese Wedding

Once at Glamorous Restaurant a few traditonal Chinese wedding customs followed. It was great to be part of the Chinese tea ceremony where the closest of family members gave the happy couple gifts to celebrate their marriage. Firecrackers and a Chinese lion dance followed before food was served to the bridal party and guests. There was a joyful vibe during the reception and all the moments I photographed during the celebrations were worth a thousand words. It was truly a special day and one I will remember forever.

It is a delight to photograph Chinese weddings in the Summer around Manchester City Centre, whatever the weather the atmosphere really doesn’t disappoint and allows me to be as creative as I can be to get those perfect shots for my couple.

All in all I had an absolute blast at Wasana and Simon's traditional Chinese wedding. Thank you to all the newly weds family and friends for making me feel so welcome during the wedding day, I hope to see you all again soon at another wedding!
