Wedding Celebrations at Thornton Manor, Cheshire

It was a pleasure photographing Siobhan and Jonny’s elegant and relaxed wedding yesterday. The happy couple decided to hold their wedding day celebrations at the stunning Thornton Manor in Cheshire with many of their closest friends and family. It’s always great and a huge honour to be involved in capturing such a spectacular wedding at Thornton Manor which is one of the most beautiful venues in all of the North West of England. It really did feel very special to be such a big part of Siobhan and Jonny’s day, I’m already very excited to start editing their images and relive how much fun yesterday was!

One of my favourite moments of the day was when I was photographing Siobhan getting ready in the gatehouse of Thornton Manor. The details, the atmosphere, the smiles; bridal prep is abundant in moments which I love to be able to capture. After a short walk over to the Manor for the girls, dad precariously entered the beautiful bridal suite of Thornton Manor to see his only daughter in her wedding dress. Shortly after this we headed towards the cars and off to see the rest of the wedding party. A short drive under the water to Liverpool City Centre and to the Metropolitan Cathedral’s Lutyens’ Crypt followed where a nervous Jonny was patiently waiting for the arrival of his stunning bride. As Jonny stood at the alter with his groomsmen they all anticipated the arrival of Siobhan and her bridesmaids into the marvellous and prodigious Crypt Chapel.

Once all the bridal party had arrived at Lutyens’ Crypt Siobhan and her dad took a deep breath and made their way towards the alter to meet Siobhan’s soon to be new husband Jonny. Friends and family looked on as Siobhan and Jonny exchanged vows during a beautiful ceremony in what must be one of the most stunning chapels I’ve ever had the honour of visiting, the Lutyens’ Crypt. I will always relish the opportunity to cover ceremonies like this in Liverpool and further afield around the UK and destinations across the world.

Elegant Cheshire Wedding Photographer

Siobhan and Jonny shared a few moments with their guests on the stairs of the Metropolitan Cathedral before heading back to stunning Thornton Manor to start their wedding reception. Drinks and ice cream awaited the wedding party and as the weather had graced us with sunshine, it allowed us all to enjoy this time of the day in the spectacular courtyard of the manor. All the guests were cheerful and you could feel the joyful atmosphere as the sun showed its face. I enjoy drifting among the guests to take the best shots and witness the stories unfold as the hours go by.

This was a fantastic early autumn wedding and we made sure we got some lovely portraits of the newly weds, so we took a short walk round the beautiful gardens of Thornton Manor and enjoyed a relaxing portrait session together. This was made easy as there are endless opportunities for stunning bridal portraits in and around the grounds. It was a perfectly sunny day making the light very soft, which really help with the wedding photography.

The guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast as the speakers prepared to deliver their speeches. The wedding speeches are a great part of the day and a joy to photograph as a wedding photographer. Afterwards Siobhan, Jonny and I went for an early dusk walk to give them a little relax time just the two of them, I captured some wonderfully tranquil moments of the bride and groom enjoying their perfect day with the marvellous Thornton Manor gracefully prominent in the background. Siobhan and Jonny will be able to cherish these images forever.

At the start of the evening celebrations, Siobhan and Jonny rocked the dance floor accompanied by their guests and courtesy of the amazing live four piece jazz band. Siobhan and Jonny’s wedding was one of the loveliest weddings I have photographed and I'm sure they will be really happy together.

I wish you all the luck in the world as Mr and Mrs, have the most amazing honeymoon! For me… I can not wait to return to this charming and unforgettable wedding venue in Cheshire to capture more delightful weddings, Thornton Manor.
