Formby Hall was our wedding venue for yesterdays Autumn wedding for stunning Laura and her new husband James

It was a pleasure photographing Laura and James's wedding yesterday. They picked a fantastic venue to get married in at Formby Hall in Formby, Liverpool. This was the third time I've had the chance to visit Formby Hall as a wedding photographer this year and I loved every moment. Photographing there is very special and I can't wait to have the opportunity to come back one day for another amazing wedding.

One of my favourite moments of the day was when I was photographing Laura getting ready at Formby Hall with her bridesmaids on the morning of the big day. The details, the atmosphere, the smiles; bridal prep is full of little moments which I love to capture. While I was spending the morning with Laura, Rachel, my second photographer for the day was with James and the groomsmen whilst he got ready on the far side of Formby Hall.

Once all the prep had finished Laura arrived at the ceremony in her stunning wedding dress with her girls by her side. With a deep breath Laura made her way towards the venue with Dad to meet James at the alter. Friends and family looked on as the bride and groom exchanged wedding rings and their vows in a fantastic wedding ceremony at Formby Hall. I will always relish the opportunity to cover weddings like this in Merseyside and feel very honoured the happy couple chose me to be there on their wedding day.

And then there was ducks!

Laura and James shared a few moments with their guests before heading up the grounds of Formby Hall for some wonderful portraits of the newly weds. We captured some amazing moments for the happy couple and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

After these few wonderful moments alone we headed to the reception and all of the newly weds family and friends. All the guests were cheerful and you could feel the joyful atmosphere at the reception when Laura and James arrived. I enjoyed drifting amongst the guests to take the best shots and witness the stories unfold as the hours went by.

This was a fantastic autumn wedding. The light falling into the wedding venue as the guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast was wonderful, it made capturing the speeches a joy. The speeches are a great part of the wedding and a joy to photograph as a wedding photographer. After the speeches the newly weds enjoyed a late, into the night party with their closest friends and family while their band kept the dance floor busy!

Laura and James’s wedding was one of the loveliest weddings I have photographed and I'm sure they will be really happy together for many many years to come. Thank you again for allowing me to be such a big part of your wedding day.
