A great way to start 2020 with a beautiful January wedding at Soughton Hall in North Wales

I absolutely loved capturing Lindsey and Paul's wedding day yesterday. This was my first wedding of 2020 and was thrilled to get back after three weeks of no real weddings to capture and enjoy. The couple celebrated at Soughton Hall in Flintshire, North Wales. I was ecstatic to photograph my first wedding at Soughton Hall, it is a superb venue for any style of wedding and with the unbelievably beautiful grounds attached it makes the perfect location. I’m already looking forward to more wedding photography here. 

Lindsey was delighted that finally, she could walk down the aisle to marry her soul mate Paul. The wedding ceremony celebrated in the grand ceremony suite at Soughton Hall was stunning, the photographs I took definitely have a grand and elegant wedding vibe to them which was exactly what the happy couple hoped for. It is truly an amazing job working as a wedding photographer here in North Wales. 

Lindsey and Paul interacted freely with their guests once leaving the grand ceremony room as husband and wife. The surroundings were wonderful and fun for all. I was always on the lookout to catch awesome candid moments on camera and with a flourish of canapés and welcome drinks greeting their guests as they arrived, this gave me a perfect amount of time to snap those special moments for the newly weds and their guests.

One of my favourite moments of the day was when I was capturing Lindsey and Paul in the grounds of Soughton Hall during their wedding day portraits. I tend to keep my couples portraits as natural and relaxed as possible but with the breathtaking landscapes and stunning colours this time of year gives us I had to keep them for a few more minutes than normal! The weather was absolutely perfect on the day for photography, beautiful natural light coming though the cloud cover allowed me to really have so fun and capture many beautiful and natural moments as the day went on.

All the guests were keen not to miss the beautiful food provided by the staff at Soughton Hall. The amazing atmosphere that the wedding venue provided was a perfect setting for the wedding breakfast, served in the beautifully and elegant marquee which was dressed perfectly. The whole process was more of an experience for everyone involved than just a traditional wedding breakfast.

The night ended with guests crowding round the dance floor to watch Lindsey and Paul enjoying their first dance together. An amazing set from live wedding band The Rush kept the dance floor packed till the end of the night. Lindsey and Paul's wedding was absolutely stunning and I’m very honoured to be asked to capture it. Congratulations from me and I wish you both all the happiness in the world as husband and wife.
