Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai Destination Wedding for Dimple and Andy
Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah was the perfect setting for the most amazing mahendi Ceremony where Dimple and Andy exchanged vows in front of friends and family
Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai
It was a pleasure photographing Dimple and Andy's destination Mehendi wedding ceremony last week. The couple chose Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, a fantastic location to celebrate their wedding. This was the first wedding I had been given the honour of capturing at Madinat Jumeirah and it hopefully won't be the last, I am always thrilled to travel around the world and capture the most amazing weddings. It is always blissful photographing magical moments in venues like this when working with great couples like Dimple and Andy.
This wonderful wedding story began with bridal prep, as Dimple and her girls got pampered with hair and makeup in one of the stunning suites in Madinat Jumeirah. Andy’s preparations started in the same location but with more of an organising role, opening the champagne and making sure the girls were comfortable was just a couple of his very important tasks, a perfect job done! I enjoyed photographing these parts of the day as the story develops and the bridal party prepares for the day ahead.
As a number of guests arrived at the beach to take their seats at the Mehendi ceremony of Dimple and Andy, the Madinat Jumeirah was exquisitely decorated in floral arrangements and while the traditional Mandap overlooked the Burj Al Arab in the background, I don’t think I have seen a more stunning setting for a wedding.
Joy and excitement was evident on everyone's face when the happy couple arrived to the wedding ceremony. Andy entered first as some of the guests joined him with a traditional Mehendi entrance dance as he made his way over to the Mandap. Dimples Bridesmaids made their way down the aisle closely followed by the beautiful Bride.
A traditional Mahendi ceremony followed with the exchanging of floral garlands during the Jai Mala followed by the pouring of water through Dimple and Andy’s hands called the Kanyadaan, signifying the giving away of the Bride.
The fire burned bright in the centre of the Mandap during the rest of the Mahendi ceremony as all the newly weds friends and family were engrossed in the ceremony. Dimple and Andy carried out the traditional Saptapadi to seal their marriage and floral petals were thrown to welcome the newly married couple back down the aisle as man and wife.
A quick walk in the beach for Dimple and Andy followed with the exquisit Burj Al Arab filling the skyline in what are wonderful and relaxed portraits. Perfect for what will be a very candid and relaxed form of wedding photography.
Party anyone??
The Madinat Jumeirah and their wedding organisers know how to entertain the wedding party. Not just a quick stroll over the wedding reception but a few boats waiting at the dock to transport them in style. A real moment to remember for everyone.
There was a lot of merrymaking at the reception which was located in the centre of the complex at Magnolia. A very intimate location perfect for any private or secluded function. The moments I photographed during the reception were worth a thousand words. It was truly a special day and one I will remember forever.
A star like entrance form the newly weds to Magnolia was a perfect way to introduce everyone to the evening celebrations. With everyone going wild, Dimple and Andy took their seats at the top table and a beautiful set of speeches followed.
Food and drink was flowing throughout the early evening and after the cutting of the cake and first dance the party really got started! Traditional Punjabi Bhangra Dhol Drums perfectly accompanied the DJ as guests were filling up the dance floor to the early hours.
Dimple and Andy, you really know how to create a fantastic wedding and I’ll be forever grateful for you both allowing me to be such a big part of it.
Enjoy your sneak peek and I can’t wait to send you over your full set of images so you can relive what was a totally unbelievable week in Dubai.
