Lake District Wedding at New House Farm for Jessica and Josh

More than beautiful day for Jess and Josh at New House Farm in the Lake District

Our Bride and Groom, Jess and Josh - JESH!

It was a pleasure photographing Jess and Josh's wedding yesterday, even with a six hour round trip included. They picked a fantastic venue to get married in at New House Farm in Cumbria, Lake District. This was the first time I've had the chance to visit New House Farm as a wedding photographer and I loved every moment. Photographing there was very special and I can't wait to have the opportunity to come back one day for another amazing wedding.

One of my favourite moments of the day was when I was photographing Jess getting ready at the New House Farm with her bridesmaids on the morning of the big day. The details, the atmosphere, the smiles; bridal prep is full of little moments which I love to capture. While I was spending the morning with Jess, Rob, my second photographer for the day was with Josh and the groomsmen whilst he got ready on the far side of the Farm in the old Dairy Room.

Once all the prep had finished Jess arrived at the ceremony in her stunning wedding dress with he girls by her side. With a deep breath Jess made her way towards the venue with Mum and Step Dad to meet Josh at the alter. Friends and family looked on as Jess and Josh exchanged wedding rings and their vows in a fantastic wedding ceremony at New House Farm. I will always relish the opportunity to cover rustic weddings like this in the Lake District and feel very honoured the happy couple chose me to be there on their wedding day.

And then there was sun!

Jess and Josh shared a few moments with their guests before heading up the grounds of New House Farm for some out of this world portraits of the newly weds. We captured some amazing moments for the happy couple up close to the small lake and made sure wed included the beautiful scenery surrounding the venue. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

After these few wonderful moments by the lake we headed to the reception and all of the newly weds family and friends. All the guests were cheerful and you could feel the joyful atmosphere at the reception when Jess and Josh arrived. I enjoyed drifting amongst the guests to take the best shots and witness the stories unfold as the hours went by.

This was a fantastic early autumn wedding. The light falling into the barn as the guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast was wonderful, it made capturing the speeches being deliver a joy. The speeches are a great part of the wedding and a joy to photograph as a wedding photographer. After the speeches the added bonus of a pub quiz for the wedding party was a great addition to the day and gave me a great opportunity for some natural and candid shots of the day.

Jess and Josh’s wedding was one of the loveliest weddings I have photographed recently and I'm sure they will be really happy together for many many years to come. Thank you again for allowing me to be such a big part of your wedding day.
